This is a liquid layout that does not include any images. Liquid layouts have the advantage that they adjust based for different monitors and mobile devices.
This layout uses css3 extensively. Internet Explorer does not support css3 and while the basic structure works on Internet Explorer 6 and up some of the coloring and other styling elements will be different.
Css3 has the advantages of allowing for an increasing amount of design to be done with css instead of relying on images. It has the disadvantage that parts are not supported by some browsers most notably Internet Explorer.
